After years of playing sports, numerous falls and injuries had taken their toll. I was in my early twenties but suffered from low back pain daily. Every night when I would lay in bed, my back hurt until I finally fell asleep. I just assumed this would be something I would have to live with for the rest of my life.

My chiropractic journey began whenever I was a young child, and I would go with my Mom to her chiropractic appointments to help her with her lower back pain. She fell down a flight of stairs as a college student and suffered with low back pain for years. At the young age of six I realized that my Mom’s chiropractor, Dr. Hughes, was helping her to be able to do her daily activities and to be able to stand and teach for long periods of time.
I would watch him adjust her and also explore in his office. I would find models of the spine, interactive posters that showed how nerves controlled different organs and different nerve patterns. It was very fascinating to me to see how my Mom would get better after her adjustments.
